Cremation
For more than 20 years, VHA has provided a dignified, caring and reliable cremation service, owned and supervised by member veterinarians. This service allows veterinarians to transition their clients through the loss of their pet.
VHA recognizes that pets are members of the family, and the loss of a pet can be very difficult. Our multiple checkpoint system ensures that the cremation of each animal meets the owner's wishes.
Several cremation options are available:
Mass Cremation
In mass cremation, pets are cremated together and the cremains are not returned to the owner. The cremains are buried off site.
Individual Cremation
In individual cremation, the pet is cremated separately and the cremains are returned to the owner through the member practice. A range of urns and containers are available for purchase by your client.
Attended Cremation
In attended cremation, pet owners observe the cremation in a private viewing room located at the VHA facility. Family and friends may spend final moments with their pet and stay until the cremation is complete. The pet owner can observe a VHA representative place their pet into the cremation chamber. When completed, the owner leaves with their pet's cremains.
VHA offers its members a range of resources dealing with pet loss, grief, and bereavement. Resources include books, literature and referral organizations.
Members are encouraged to visit and tour VHA's cremation facility at any time.
